ROLLING STONES LIVE'R THAN YOU'LL EVER BE Label: TMOQ 71003 RS 510 A/B Oakland, CA 11/9/69 2nd show 8m- AUD
Good audience recording for the time but Mick's voice is too loud. Average performance. The LP, the first rock music bootleg with good sound, caused a sensation back in 1970 and was even reviewed in Rolling Stone magazine.
Coincidentally, a primitive incomplete soundboard tape recorded by Bill Graham's people
is available on a rare German LP which was dubbed onto the "Hangout" CD. The soundboard
tape sounds much different but the overall quality is similar. - Fingerprint File

ROLLING STONES AMERICAN TOUR IN L.A. 1972 Label:Unknown Los Angelos, CA,1972
This LP is probably mis-labeled - it is an exact duplicate of the "Detroit 1972" LP, which is also mis-labeled (see next LP description). - ElChae
| |
ROLLING STONES LIVE IN DETROIT Label: OB81 KYOTO (Outsider Bird ??) Norfolk,VA,1972
Good 1972 concert recording - is it really Detroit?. No, not really...it is mis-labeled. Most likely, it is "Goin' Back To The Roots", "American Tour - July 1972", recorded live in Charlotte, Norfolk, and Indianapolis. The giveaway is during the intros where Jagger says, "At a 114 pounds, Mick Taylor". - David Gutekunst

[DH] 75 min
This is a very common show on many bootlegs from the time of its first broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1975? until now. It's not surprising it's on so many boots; the recording is extremely good as is the
performance. Old 2LP sets such as "Nasty Music" combined this broadcast with 4 songs from the NYC 7/26/72 concert. The broadcast songs were all from Brussels except Happy, Gimme Shelter, Heartbreaker, and Street Fighting Man were from London. Later CDs have confused things further, for example "Brussels Affair" uses a remixed broadcast for the first 3 songs so its Happy
and Gimme Shelter are also from Brussels. Got it? - Fingerprint File

ROLLING STONES REVERSE BLUES Label: BEAKON ISLAND Brussels, GER 10/17/73 - 1st show (Sides A & B) Passaic, NJ 6/14/78 (Sides C & D)
It took a while, but I finally identified these two concerts. The Brussels show just may be the Stones' finest ever - at least, it's my favorite. 1973 must have been a great year to attend any Stones' show! - El Chae

ROLLING STONES NASTY SONGS Label: TAKRL 24909 Brussels, BEL 10/17/73 London, UK 9/9/73 * NYC, NY 7/26/72 ** "Nasty Music" also reissued as "Nasty Songs" by The Amazing Kornyphone Record Label with "Spunk" and "Monique D'ozo" labels, and black and white printed cover shots of Jagger circa '75 and '72. The original SODD matrix has been scratched out and is replaced by 24409-A/B/C/D.
A fine sounding analog recording. Additional release found on BOX TOP RECORDS RS 546 A-D. The 1973 portions of this recording were taken from the June 29, 1975 King Biscuit Flower Hour (KBFH) radio broadcast (#4).
NOTES: This is a very common show on many bootlegs from the time of its first broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1975? until now. ROLLING STONES GARDEN STATE '78 Label: n/a Passaic, NJ 6/14/78 8.5s - SB
[DH] 90 min; Excellent stereo soundboard recording. Probably the most well known boot of the tour.
Legend has it the tape was stolen from the soundboard before the show ended which explains why the end
is missing.
Good performance except the incomplete encore "Street Fighting Man" sounds completely unrehearsed; terrible. Original LPs sound better than any CD release. - Fingerprint File
